During Kentucky Muzzleloader Hunting Season, muzzleloading rifles or handguns of any caliber, with flint or percussion ignition (including in-lines), shooting round balls, conical bullets or saboted bullets. Muzzleloading firearms equipped with open sights or telescopic sights (scopes). Muzzleloading shotguns no larger than 10-gauge, shooting round balls, conical bullets or saboted bullets. A muzzleloading rifle of .50 caliber or larger when hunting elk during Kentucky Muzzleloader Hunting Season.

Past Season Zones 1, 2 and 3: Open to either sex. Zone 4: Antlered Deer Only.

Upcoming Season Late muzzleloader season. In Zone 4, antlerless deer may not be taken from 12-09-23 through 12-14-23. From 12-15-23 through 12-17-23, hunters may harvest an antlerless deer. Hunters may use archery equipment or crossbows during this season. Blaze orange requirements for deer hunters still apply regardless of method.
